STEP2. You may resize the Flash movie by the following:

  1. Drag on the program window's bolder line.
  2. Click on Options->Dimension to open the dimension dialog box and specify the width and height in pixels. You may check on the "Use original doc size" to restore the Flash movie rectangle.
  3. Click on Options->Keep Aspect Ratio to switch if you want the movie width/height aspect ratio to be fixed during resizing.

STEP3. Control the Flash movie playback and Seek Controller:

  1. The Flash movie is paused at first. You may start it by clicking on Control->Play.
  2. To stop the movie playback, click on Control->Stop.
  3. To rewind the movie to the beginning, click on Control->Rewind.

STEP4. Seek Controller How-to: (Pro only)

The Seek Controller helps to browse into flash movie's frames easily by dragging the slider bar or entering the frame number in the Current Frame field. It is a very handy tool to help you quickly and easily locate the frame number range in the Flash movie to convert.
  • Sequence
    • Normal: Follow the Flash movie's playback sequence including movie clips and action scripts.
    • Frame by Frame: Follow the frame sequences in main timeline.
    • Skip backward frame: Just like Frame by Frame mode, but If the flash movie contain loop in the main timeline by using action scripts such as "goto and play 0", this option will break the loop by ignoring the action script.
  • Current Frame and End Frame fields: The default value of Current Frame field is 0. The default value of End Frame field is the total frame number in main timeline.
  • You may extend the movie's playback range by enlarge the End Frame number. (Especially useful in Normal mode Sequence)
  • To go to a specific frame, just input the frame number in the Current Frame field and then click Enter. (Make sure the End frame is bigger than the frame you input)
  • The slider allows you to randomly jump to any frame between the first frame (0) and the End Frame number.
  • The control buttons can be used to control the movie more precisely.

STEP 5.1 Convert to Video file:

  1. Click on File->Create to AVI to specify the output file name (AVI format).
  2. In the "AVI Export Setting" windows, you may specify the following information for the conversion.

2.1 Sequence -- Determine the created frame sequence.

    • Skip "goto backward frame" in main timeline: If the flash movie contain loop in the main timeline by using action scripts such as "goto and play 0", this option will break the loop by ignoring the action script.
    • Frame by frame in main timeline: Convert in the sequence of the main timeline.
    • Normal: Convert with Flash movie's normal playback sequence including movie clips and action scripts.

2.2 Duration -- Specify the created frame length.

    • Start Frame: Default is 0.
    • End Frame:  Default is the Flash movie's last frame number in main timeline. You may specify the "Start Frame" and "End Frame" to partially convert  the movie. Or you may enlarge the "End Frame" to convert the whole movie in his normal sequence.

2.3 Video -- choose desired video format setting.

    • Compressor: Press "Select" button to specify the codec setting for conversion.
      • Compression Codec program: Click combo box to select the suitable codec installed in your system. You have to pre-install the needed codec program in your system.
      • Compression Quality: Select from 0 to 100 for the compression quality.
      • Key Frame Interval: Specify the frame number of the converted video's adjacent key frames.
      • Data rate: Specify the data rate of the converted video.
      • You may click on the Format button for advance setting of the codec program.
    • Frame Rate: Default is the original setting of the flash movie (If you modify the value, the output video will be faster or slower than the original Flash movie).
      Note
: if you choose "Record from current SWF file" in "Audio" setting, the frame rate will be always same as the original flash movie and cannot be changed.
    • Color Depth: Select whether to convert 32 bits RGB Alpha channel video or not:
      • 24 bits RGB format.
      • 32 bits RGB with Alpha:

2.4 Audio -- choose the audio source to create.

    • None: No audio.
    • Record from current SWF file: Audio is recorded from current SWF file in phase one processing and then merge into video in phase two.
      • Format: Press "Select" button to choose the audio format attributes. Currently only support PCM format.
      • Recording volume: Adjust the volume level of waveform recording device. Your sound card must support waveform audio recording capability and make sure you had selected it for recording audio.  Press "Advance" button to adjust detailed recording control setting.
    • From WAVE file: Using external wave file to create audio, press "Browse" button to choose the wave file. The audio data of this wave file will be merged with video data and the audio of original SWF file will be ignored.

2.5 Specify the file size up limit in the Slip file when exceeding text field.(Pro only)

2.6 Check Play after creating checkbox to open the output AVI with external media player when complete.

  3. Press "OK" to create AVI file, the progress bar will pop up. If you choose to "Record from current SWF file" then program will perform two phase creating. The first phase create audio and the second phase create video. It would be better to close all other running programs to obtain the best performance and audio recording quality. If you choose "None" or "From WAVE file", only one phase creating is needed. You may press "Finish" button of the progress bar to terminate the creating at any time. The partially output file still works normally.

STEP 5.2 Convert to Image Sequences: (Pro only)

  1. Click on File->Create to Image Sequence -> TGA | PNG to specify the output file names of the images.
  2. In the following Image Sequence Export Setting window, specify the information for conversion as in STEP 5.1.
  3. Each output file name of the image sequences will be appended with an auto-incremental number.

Batch Mode (Pro only)

STEP 1 : Click on File->Batch to open the Batch Creating Multiple Files window.

STEP 2 : To insert a task in the batch tasks list, click on Add button.

STEP 3 : In the open dialog (Select a Flash File) , select a Flash File in file folder.

STEP 4 : In the Select Output File Name dialog, give the output file name and select the file type by choosing AVI, TGA, or PNG from the File Type combo box.

STEP 5 : If you choose to output to AVI in the above dialog, then the AVI Export Setting is open. Otherwise, Image Sequence Export Setting is open.

STEP 6 : Repeat 3-5 to insert more tasks to the batch list.

STEP 7 : You may modify the output file name or the conversion setting by first selecting the task item in the list and then clicking on Output File or Setting buttons.

STEP 8 : You may remove the batch task(s) by first selecting the task item in the list and then clicking on remove button.

STEP 9 : After all is set up and confirmed, click on OK button to start the batch processing.

STEP 10: On completion, the Log of Batch Create window pops up for inspection. You may copy/paste the log to a text file for backup.

Note: For "Record from current SWF file", if you press " Finish" button during the create audio phase, the maximum length of created AVI file is depends on the actual length of recorded audio, not "End Frame" in the "Duration" you specify.

TIPS for sample file conversion (flashants_logo.swf): The sample flash movie contains 23 frames and action scripts to control the sequences. To convert the full animation cycle you have to enlarge the "End Frame" number in the AVI Export Setting dialog box and use the normal sequence.
